Adding theme menus

Recommended Posts

I'm attempting to add more menus to the 3 (primary navigation, footer navigation, footer social links) that currently come with EcoPro. As far as I can tell, additional menus simply have to be declared in config/config_sidebars.php along with the original 3 - unfortunately, this does not appear to be easily done with a child theme. Is there any way to do this without altering the core files?

You should be able to add it to the functions.php file of any child theme...something like this would register a new location: ` if ( function_exists( 'register_nav_menu' ) ) { register_nav_menu( 'fourth_nav', 'Fourth Mobile Navigation Menu' ); } `

Thanks that realy helped me out as well. All I need to know now is how I can use this extra location in my layout. I need a header that consists of 2 nav locations, separated by a slider. The topnav is sort of part of the branding, and the main nav is underneath the slider.
