MrFent+ 28 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 I believe this file that was included in my Developer edition has something to do with vectors, but there's no documentation on it. How do I install & use it? Also, how can I upgrade to 1.3?
Kate 3 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 Hey Chris - Those files are for you to use in graphics editors (Illustrator, etc.). For upgrading: do you mean actually downloading the file? If so, you should visit your launchpad area. If you're referring to the process, then please see our documentation: http://www.pagelines.com/docs/upgrading
MrFent+ 28 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 I went to launchpad but all that was in there is the 1.2.3 version. How do I get 1.3?
Sourena 2 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 You do not install the EPS file. It is there so you can use it for generating images and buttons similar to what you see in the theme. You need to open it in a vector imaging application such as Adobe Illustrator. The problem is that many people, including myself, cannot open it because it is created by the latest version of Illustrator. The older versions cannot open the file. THis is the message one gets if the Illustrator is old: The Solution: Pagelines needs to save the file in EPS but disable the illustrator capabilities. It needs to be saved in a very general EPS format so everybody can open it, even those who use a different vector image-editing application. alefba.usWeb Development & Design for Right-to-Left languages
MrFent+ 28 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 I found a fix for that problem create a new document in Adobe Illustrator, then click File, Place. Then select the PlatformProDev eps file. It will open and you can save it as a new eps file which will open for future use.
