Converting java text link info for my own image

Recommended Posts

How do I modify a javascript text link to a button link? I've got an affiliate link, but it's a text link in the sidebar. I want to get the link info and apply it to a button in the content area. This is the java script. Which part would I replace with my image URL or is it even possible? The affiliate goes through Commission Junction and requesting info is impossible. <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://www.kqzyfj.com/placeholder-5144690?target=_top&mouseover=N"></script> The webpage example is - http://hooverdamtour.info/hoover-dam-tours/hoover-dam-bus-tours/ The red bus tour links are the ones I want to use for the buttons. Thanks Scott

Is this in fact the affiliate link?: http://www.kqzyfj.com/placeholder-5144690 This one has me thrown for a loop a bit I'd say? I can help you create/style a button with CSS, but I'm not sure I'm following the JS/Link/Affiliate dilemma? Thanks, Bryan

I'm told it is. I have an affiliate agreement with Best of Las Vegas through Commission Junction. The only option I have to link to their Hoover Dam tours are through these text links. I'd like to find a way to use my own link images/buttons to get to the checkout page and get paid or credited for the transaction. Commission Junction doesn't appear to offer an affiliate ID like some outfits. I thought I might be able to extract that affiliate ID from the java script and create a link for my own image/buttons. Is this possible? I have access to html code too.

I pasted the html and looks like we got the ADD TO CART button. Here's the html again with the `Add to Cart`

When you pasted code use backticks...I tried editing your post but I'm not sure if it's right...why does the a link have `class+...` instead of `class="...`?

Thanks Adam, but I think that what I want to do isn't likely to happen, but I appreciate the effort. I don't think I phrased my goal correctly, so I'll try one more time. I've got a javascript link that I paste into a text widget, but it appears only as a text link - no banner. Because it looks kind of rinky-dink, I'd like to replace the text with my own button/image and use it in the content area, but still have it link to the vendor with all the applicable ID's etc. I suppose I could ask the vendor to create a banner ad, but I'd still prefer to use my own buttons with a URL link with attached affiliate ID. Like a Pagelines affiliate link. What do you think?

There's always a way. You can create a kind of button by wrapping it with a styled div: `

... affiliate code...
` There's a lot you can do: http://www.w3schools.com/ Really, you should be able to dive into your CJ settings and find a way to use a plain text affiliate URL. Thanks, Bryan
