szuting 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2011 Hi, I use WPML to translate the sites and I can translate features and boxes just fine. However, when I want to re-order the "Features" I can only re-order the English version of features. And the Chinese features are still in the order according to the timestamp. Any idea? Thanks, site, http://2wheelwriters.com
cmunns 16 Report post Posted February 23, 2011 Why are there two different version of each post? Wouldn't they be the same post that gets parsed for translation?
szuting 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2011 This is what I'm trying to find out. So on the homepage of 2wheelwriters.com Under English, the order of the features is correct Under Traditional Chinese, the #2 slide and #3 slide are switched. (the reason that English version has more slides because I haven't finished translating all the features yet)
szuting 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2011 perhaps I should rephrase the program. So I used the plug-in "Post Types Order" to reorder the features. however, the correct order only works for the English version, which is the default language.
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 What we're proposing is why not have the same set for both. It sounds as if you have two separate slide sets; English AND Chinese. I think what Adam is asking is why not just have the English one that can be translated into Chines on the fly using WPML instead of having two. Perhaps that is how you have it setup and we're just missing the point... Thanks, Bryan
szuting 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 I only have one set of slides, and because I installed WPML. so I clicked on translate within each feature. I don't have 2 different sets of slides.
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 Okay, I think we're on the same page now. I think the "Chinese" versions are staying because they're probably cached. With most translation plugins it creates cached pages of the extra language(s). So I think you need to check the WPML settings or check with their support...
