CSS style sheet not loading for admin in Safari

Recommended Posts

I wonder if anyone knows how to fix this bug: Using pagelines pro, I changed my permalinks from the default naming convention to the date/page name option. Since then whenever I am logged in as admin and I go to the site (www.motikon.com) the style sheet won't load. The problem "seems" to be only with Safari (doesn't happen in Firefox/Mac) but have not done complete testing yet. If anyone has a clue as to why this would happen (ponly started when permalinks option was altered) I'd very much appreciate your advice, Thanks

Does it work okay with other permalink naming conventions?...which stylesheet is missing? A link would be helpful as well

Hi Adam, Thanks for your reply. Same problem in all the permalink options. In fact even if I revert to the default permalinks option the problem persists. However, it "seems" to be only in Safari and only when I am logged in. THe URL is: www.motikon.com Another note that may help to resolve: When I initially made the permalink change the admin system displayed a message indicating that the .htaccess file was not writable and prompted me to insert a strong of text into that file. Thanks agian, RObert

Hmmm, sounds like there may be some permissions issues here. Do you have FTP access to the server where your site is hosted to check to see if everything is writable? Did you insert that string of code into the .htaccess file?

Hi Tyler- Yes, I tried both: inserting the code into the .htaccess file, then I tried changing the write permissions on the same file but no result. I was thinking about deactivating and then reactivating the theme (after saving my settings and backing up the db of course) but that seems pretty risky. Btw just installed and tested Chrome and smae issue there. THe only browser that loads the style sheet while logged in is Firefox.

Were you able to change the write permissions? What are they?

I changed them to 666. But the problem persists.

Thanks for sending that link. Just to clarify, my problem is different from the one that they are dealign with in that thread. IN that thread it seems the admin screen is not loading properly. My problem is that when I am logged in, the actual blog screen is not loading the style sheet. And I am not sure if this is a problem for anyone who might try to visit my blog when I am logged in or if it is limited to the computer in which I am logged into...

Oh, as for plug ins, I have a bunch installed but I tried deactivating all of them and it did not solve the problem.

Cache problem? Have you cleared the cache and cookies for those browsers?

My problem is that when I am logged in, the actual blog screen is not loading the style sheet. <- Do you mean that the stylesheet file isn't loading in the Appearance editor even though it exists?

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
