cmunns 16 Report post Posted February 17, 2011 There are great plugins out there to help you change the Title tag and other meta info for your site. I use all-in-one-seo, but there are many others as well
tim4708 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2011 Adam, I have installed all-in-one seo for my webpage. Unfortunately, whereas before it showed up on Page 7 on Google, it has now disappeared. Perhaps my options are not configured correctly? It seems like the default option settings should work fairly well. I have enabled the plugin. The only options I modified were: Home Title: Business English Editors Home Description: Perfect English Documents for Your Business. Home Keywords: Business, English, Editor, Editors, Editing Are there other options I should be modifying? Website = business-english-editors.com Many thanks! Kate 3 Report post Posted February 21, 2011 Hi Tim - It looks like your meta data is being generated correctly. The only thing I would improve is the page title... Also, perhaps double check that these new settings match the old ones
tim4708 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2011 Hi Kate, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by: "double check that these new settings match the old ones" Also, do you have a suggestion for what a better page title would be? Thanks a lot!

scotmanfrontiernetnet 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2011 Unfortunately, whereas before it showed up on Page 7 on Google, it has now disappeared. Google often does this when updating the index and their are changes to your website. Wait a few weeks and it should be back on page 7 as it was -- with the reflected changes you made. Google also made some changes to their algorithm within the last week that affects approximately 12% of all websites indexed. These changes could have affected your website. Edit... After looking at your website I would make your description match your title... Like cmunns said All In One SEO plugin will help you craft your meta titles and descriptions for better results in your ranking. Right now you have multiply pages indexed for one keyword "Business English Editors" if you refine your homepage with a matching title and description and make sure your other pages do not use the same duplicate title and descriptions, this is why you are seeing alot of your pages under one keyword. This will affect your homepages pagerank because as it stands now any pagerank you get is spread across each of those pages.

catrina 103 Report post Posted March 4, 2011 I'll also suggest this related plugin (as long as it doesn't make your website go haywire): http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/ Please read the docs before posting. scotmanfrontiernetnet 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2011 Your welcome Tim. I agree with Catrina a sitemap is important to have. A really good alternative to Google Sitemap Generator is Dagon Design Sitemap Generator.http://www.dagondesign.com/articles/sitemap-generator-plugin-for-wordpress/
