Hiding posts in main page area but still showing them in sidebar lists?

I want to prevent posts from certain categories from appearing in the main page posts area, but I still want those posts to appear as a list in a sidebar. I've tried using plugins like Front Page Excluded Categories, but that also stops them from appearing in any category lists I create in the sidebars. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Paul.

Hi Paul - Are you using PlatformPro? If so, you could modify the query in template.postloop.php. I would first copy this to your child theme, and modify it from there. If you're using another theme, you can use the equivalent PHP file, but note that your changes, in that case, would be overwritten if/when you update the theme.

Also note that if you create a custo menu in APPEARANCE - MENUS you can have your sidebar list any categories, pages, etc that you wish.
