basmati 4 Report post Posted February 15, 2011 We need to protect some pages with .htaccess. Is it possible to protect the whole content of a single page (with subpages): feature slider, content area with text and images. Any experiences?
Kate 3 Report post Posted February 15, 2011 Hi Peter - When you say you're looking to "protect" them, may I ask from whom? Would it be an easier solution to just hide certain content (with a plugin) from users without enough credentials? Or do you have something else in mind? basmati 4 Report post Posted February 15, 2011 I try to protect some pages with special content. this content includes: a lot of pictures, draftings, special offers, etc. Adam told me to use the built-in WP function - that was a good idea. (By the way: is the build-in function as save as the .htaccess function?) The problem is: The direct path to the uploads folder with images an draftings is not protected. To disallow indexing the media folder by Google i could use the robots.txt and i did that. Is it possible to protect the uploads folder from external access? And if i use a direct path to a protected page with feature slider i can see the feature slider above and the sidebar menu and below the login window with password protection.
