Setting Features to show Featured Post from category

Ok, I set the global options feature post source to category and created a category for features. Then set the post category id, then set up a blank features feature (post). Nothing showed up in the features slider until I created the page so I'm assuming that was the right thing to do. I selected certain posts to be in the category chosen (featured) and the text shows but there is no image or link to the original posts and no control over how the text is presented ie. bottom, right, left. What am I missing? I am using Platform pro on wordpress 3.0.5 I currently have this on a test page http://thebusysingleparent.com/atest/

Never mind - I figured it out. Wasn't as simple as just going in and selecting certain posts to be featured. Had to go in and edit each one as well. More work than I had anticipated but it does the job.
