Buddypress, registered member gains access to wp-admin section!

I've installed Buddypress with Platform Pro. While testing things -- creating a new user / registering / etc ... after that user is registered I added wp-admin to the website URL and was able to gain access to the backend administrator / Dashboard area. Granted most of the features were disabled, but still, there was enough there which I wouldn't want someone poking around in. How can I close this door to the wp-admin section for users?
