Why template.postloop.php?

Recommended Posts

I like the idea of Platform Pro but I can't stand the fact that it actually limits your ability to edit the differences between a page, an archive, a single post and the index. You have everything in template.postloop.php. I only have the option to edit how the excerpt looks and then everything else. I want to add the like button to the top of the post just after the header but I can't since I don't want it to appear in the pages as well. I can't have the plugin do it automatically since they will show up in all the boxes and features. I'm just at a loss right now and frustrated.

Hey Jess - If you want it to appear just after the header, could you use a hook? http://www.pagelines.com/docs/advanced-customization In addition, simple PHP if statements usually suffice to take care of more granular control. We don't want you to be "frustrated", and we'd love to help you out. Let us know which option seems good to you, and we can go from there...

its really frustating that pagelines framework is not a standard wordpress theme... u can see the woothmes wooframework thats a genuine wordpress while u r limiting people to play with a wordpress theme for nothing. I mean u have nothing special in ur theme.. this all can be done using default wordpress theme... for example on single.php u have put text its only to fulfill wordpress requirements... thats the point u r bypassing wordpress standard rules. I hope u'll consider to use wordpress files without putting text "only to fulfill wordpress requirement" !!
