Primary Navigation Alignment

Recommended Posts

david_hartman

Hi, I would like to align the primary nav bar to the right a bit (10-20px). However, when I do so by using padding or margins- it interferes with the background image behind it. You can see on the site what is happening when using padding in the CSS to make the alignment change (ie space on left). The current CSS is pasted below.. thoughts? http://wpdev.sontagfilm.org/ Thanks, David

#nav_row {
	    background: url("http://wpdev.sontagfilm.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Nav-Image.jpg") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
	}

	body #primary-nav .content-pad {
	    padding-left: 24px;
	    padding-top: 0px;
	}

	#primary-nav li a {
	border-color:transparent transparent -moz-use-text-color;
	border-style:solid solid none;
	border-width:1px 1px medium;
	color:#777777;
	display:block;
	font-size:1.05em;
	font-weight:normal;
	letter-spacing:0.05em;
	line-height:1.2em;
	padding:12px 10px;
	text-decoration:none;
	}

Andrew

You should be attaching your background image to: `#primary-nav .content {...}` not `#nav_row`
