Moving Social Media Icons

Recommended Posts

issyb

Hi there, This sounds like the issue I am having. Basically I want to move the social buttons to be in-line with the nav items (replacing the location of the default search window). I used a method from another post where someone wanted to move their social icons down. I used this custom code - .icons{background;top:185px !important;} . It works to bring the icons down to the right area but they loose their roll over effect and the link does not work. Funny thinh is that as long as they are not in the same horizontal plane as the nav items they work ok. It is only when they get about where I need them that the rollover etc stops working. Is there a different method that would work for this? Hope this makes sense. I am working on MAMP so I can't give you a live link. Thanks, Mat M

Could you just use a hook to add your own icons to the nav section? We didn't design the icons to be moved around outside of the branding section.

Hey, I want to be able to do the same thing...

I understand I could make a custom hook to display social icons in the nav barhowever im trying to set up a template for clients and want to easily be able to insert the links to there social media via the Header and Nav options under social icons section...not have to edit custom hooks every time. There has to be a way to move this section, can you please come up with a solution to this cause a lot of people seem to want to move the social icons.

>We didn't design the icons to be moved around outside of >the branding section. This would be a good feature for v-next, paired with the option to center-align the branding header, both accessible in your 'Header and Nav' section... these two elements make a nice comination that would add to the already strong visual appeal offered by the basic (i.e. non-code) config options. Thanks! Dan
