authordtg 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2011 Tyler, if you are still available, per my other thread, if I am only able to have a single blog page and assign that through the settings / reading page, how would you recommend or am I able to have non-static content on different pages? For example, If I were doing a cooking site, how would I have a page that is a blog for Pasta centric dishes and another page that is blog based for beef based dishes? I appreciate the guidance as I am a novice at this however I think I have a fairly sophisticated site already with child pages and I'm using everything from features to banners, etc...but some of these things i'm getting stuck when it comes to big picture answers. Guest Guest Report post Posted January 31, 2011 Brandan, The easiest way to accomplish this is to make custom menu items that link to the particular blog categories you want to be featured on that one particular page. For example, if you wanted a link in your menu for all of your blog posts about pasta dishes, you would just have to make sure that all of those posts are placed under a category such as pasta, and then create a menu item linking to yourblog.com/category/pasta. If you're not already familiar with custom menus, you can create your own custom menus by going under Appearance in the left sidebar of WP-Admin and going to Menus. If you need detailed instructions reply and I can help you out. Hope that helps.

authordtg 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2011 I may need some guidance. I did a drag and took a category over to the main menu. it created a page that had the category and appropriate posts in the content section. it did not allow me to make this 'category page' a child of any of the actual pages in the menu. is there a way to make this category page a child page? please advise if this is what you were directing me to do. If this was what you were referring to, i see i can customize each Post to remove feature, boxes, etc, but on the category page i am unable to find a way to eliminate anything as it is the default theme with all appropriate templates, If this is the way I must do it I would prefer to remove many of those things (features, boxes, etc) and just show the posts that are in the category.
