Sites are SLOW!!

I have two site running on the same hosting company. 1) not wordpress http://alkivolleyball.com 2) wordpress with pagelines platformpro http://phillipvanrooyen.com/alkivolleyball Pages are loading in less that 2sec on 1) Pages are taking over 10sec to load on 2) ???? I've looked at all the solutions offered here.. adding plugins to speed things up etc. some break my site others make no difference. As much as I liked Platformpro initially, I'm currently considering dumping if I can't find a solution to this speed issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Phillip - When I check your second site on Pingdom, I show it only taking 4 seconds to load. Most of that time seems to be allocated to images and a jquery. Or are you maybe talking about individual pages within the site? I highly recommend using http://tools.pingdom.com on each page so that you can see the actual elements which are slowing your site down the most.

Phillip I don't see anything about your site that would cause it to load slowly. Definitely check with your host about speeding things up. fyi the PageLines site runs on PlatformPro so if it was slow you know we'd have concerns.

Hi, I was facing some similar issues when I ran into your blog.. following things have reduced my load time drastically 1. added define('ENABLE_CACHE',true); //wp-config.php, to cache the queries 2. added W3 Total Cache wordpress plugin, this reduced my time from 10 sec to 5 seconds here is the link http://www.careerinjava.com http://www.webpagetest.org/ is a good site to test your webserver response from various locations. Also, looking for more tips on performance improvement
