elizlyons 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Until yesterday, my photos uploaded perfectly to posts using the Upload Media feature. Suddenly, the no longer do. When I upload a photo to a post, the upload technically completes, but instead of seeing the image, there is just a box with the alt text or image title inside of it. I can add a photo that's already in my media library to a post with no problem; I simply can no longer upload new photos to the media library and have them show up. I'm using Wordpress version 2.8.2 and nothing has changed in the last 24 hours on my end. My host is BlueHost and they said there have been no updates on there end that they believe would affect my ability to upload photos.
elizlyons 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 One other thing I'm noticing is that when I upload the photo and then go into my uploads folder under wp_content, the photo name isn't there. It's almost as though the settings are switched somehow so that the photo isn't being uploaded to the right file folder and, therefore, can't be viewed. But I haven't changed anything in this area, so I'm quite clueless. Any ideas?
elizlyons 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 I have fixed it. If anyone else runs up against this, be sure the uploads path under Miscellaneous settings is set properly. I had added a new folder and somehow the upload path was set incorrectly.
jnoh 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 elizlyons. You made it too easy for me; you asked the question, clarified it and answered it all in the same day. Only if everyone were as independent as you. Just Kidding. Let me know if I can help you with anything else!
reisp 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2010 I am getting this same problem now. I have searched thru many forums looking for the answer. All I can find is the same on this guy had, but it is not working for me. Not sure why there are so many people out there with the same issue and no fix. Any ideas? It was working fine. Just started happening not too long ago. I tried to do what @elizlyons said here and no dice. Frustrating...
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted May 4, 2010 @reisp - Please provide the link to your website, also what version of WordPress are you using and what PageLines theme and version? In the meantime, a workaround could be to manually upload photos via FTP. Thanks, Bryan
