Favicon Image background

Hi, Im trying to perfect little details on my site and I was wondering about the favicon image for pagelines. I have a favicon Image and I removed the white background. However when I set the favicon Image it has a white block around it. The favicon image for pagelines does not have this, and it had the rollover effect; this looks ten times better. this is not urgent at all but it would be cool to know how. -Josiah oh yea I simply uploaded the image w/ no background into wordpress and I put the url in the options txt field where it should be. and here is my link protection alliance
