Upgrading Platform Pro versions

I am trying to clarify three questions on how we should update platform pro - here's my questions: (1) I have installed Platform Pro and Platform Pro Base. I have Platform Pro Base activated. Will I ever need to upgrade Platform Base or will it always remain at version 1.04???? (2) I am assuming the beauty of using the base theme is I do all my coding in there and then when there's an update with new features, I can just install the new platform pro theme update and not install a new base and all my mods will be retained. Is this correct? (3) When I do an upgrade to a Platform Pro version I go into my ftp - delete platform pro folder. Then, I upload the new platform pro folder - named platformpro to the theme directory and then all should be good. I don't need to de-activate the theme, because the base is always activated. Is this a good description of a proper upgrade workflow? Thanks for the input!

Hey Cory - Yes, the child theme is where you do your custom coding. By putting it in there, you can, as you said, upgrade the platformpro folder without worries. When upgrading, it's not a bad idea to still deactivate the theme(s), just in case. Then you can simply reactivate it/them once the new directory is up. The other option is to open the directory and copy/paste all of the files from the new directory into the current one, simply overwriting what's there (if that makes sense).
