platourshawca 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2011 On my website the edit tabs are not visible. To be clear on what I mean by the edit tabs, I'm talking about when I (as the website admin) go to the website there should be below every box, banner, and page an edit tab that when clicked takes me directly to the appropriate back end area where I can edit the content. Can someone assist me? Thanks so much, Paul
Andrew 207 Report post Posted January 8, 2011 Well, are you logged in as an admin on the site?
platourshawca 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 thanks for the reply. Yes I am logged in as an administrator. Any other suggestion as to why these edit tabs are not showing up? Many thanks
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 Did this coincide with any change?; - Upgrade? - New Plugin? - Code Edit? Thanks, Bryan
platourshawca 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2011 As far as I know it didn't coincide with any changes. Certainly I didn't edit any code. (I'm a drag and drop kind of guy.) I've made two websites with this template, one for me and one for my wife. They virtually have the same content. Mine is fine, while her's doesn't have the "edit" tabs. Why? I don't know. She is computer challenged, which is why the edit tabs were so useful. Have you heard of this happening before? I couldn't find any reference in the forum. Many thanks, Paul
catrina 103 Report post Posted January 22, 2011 I've never seen this problem before. Can you post the link to your wife's website? Maybe they're there, but just hiding... Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to. Designer | Catrina Dulay Founder | Catrina and Mouse
platourshawca 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2011 Sure. Thanks. It's www.audreymairi.com But don't you need to be logged in as an admin for you to see the "edit" tabs?
Andrew 207 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 @Paul, my guess is this is a conflict with a plugin. PageLines just uses a standard WP function here; so there isn't much we could do to create the issue
platourshawca 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2011 Thanks Andrew. I'll investigate all the plugins. With any luck I'll solve the problem. Great job with Platform Pro. Love it!
platourshawca 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2011 Unfortunately, I've gone through all of the plug-ins and there doesn't seem to be any conflict there. On the site on which the "edit tabs" work (www.herowork.com) has all the same plug-ins that the site on which the "edit tabs" don't work (www.audreymairi.com). The only exception is the Ecwid Store plug-in. I de-activated it and it made no difference. Has anyone had conflicts with Ecwid? Thanks so much, Paul
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted January 26, 2011 Hmm, are you sure that's absolutely ONLY difference, if so I think we found our culprit, you may be able to get some insight contacting the Ecwid Store plugin author (I've personally never heard of it): http://wordpress.org/tags/ecwid-shopping-cart?forum_id=10 I recommend: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-e-commerce/ I use the premium version with WordPress/PlatformPro without any issues.
