dfmillington 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 I have spent countless hours trying to get this to work and have searched high and low (including this forum) and cannot get the "more" feature to work at the end of excerpts on my blog posts. This is somewhat annoying - am I missing some easy fix?
dfmillington 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 I spent an additional 3 hours this morning trying to get this to work and no luck. I am up to 10+ hours on the "Read More" feature. This is getting a little ridiculus.
Andrew 207 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 Should be an easy fix are you manually editing the `_posts.php` page? You might need to add some code there... In the pro themes there is the option to change the "leave a response" text into a read more link, would that help? Finally, if you just want a read more link, I can look at it and figure out what you need to add?
dfmillington 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 Changing the "leave a response" is not what I want. I want a real "Read More" link to appear at the end of the excerpt to make it obvious to the reader what they need to do. The "leave a reponse" is not very obvious. The link needs to come at the end of the excerpt. What code do I need to insert on the _post.php page and where exactly do I need to enter it? PS. I don't understand why this feature is not built into the theme. Everything I've read indicates this is imperative if you want the reader to know what and where to click to read more. dfmillington 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 Success! The plugin "Excerpts Editor" allows for the more feature to work - you need to select "on the site" and "Read More link" under the Auto-Generate tab of the Excerpt Editor (found under tools menu)
