Go to development toolkit (python dev looking for shortcuts)

Hey guys,

So I'm transitioning from django to wordpress and was reading up on how development works. Most everyone knows the typical way described in the documentation is not the best pay to proceed as there's always tools that spring up in the community that make a developer's job much easier.

I'm putting together a toolkit to use in building my first wordpress application. Was hoping people would help fill this out and give their suggestions/alternatives.
