- Is there a way to move the carousel location to somewhere else within the page?
Since I don't see that this question, about how to move the Carousel to another location on the page, was answered, I'll offer what I did: We're using the Carousel on the home page. That page is set to use the Carousel Page - Standard template. We wanted the Carousel beneath the posts/content area. The change was made in: themes > iblogpro4_dev > page_carousel.php, where the order of the template parts were switched. Change this: get_template_part('pro/template_carousel'); get_template_part('library/template_page'); to this: get_template_part('library/template_page'); get_template_part('pro/template_carousel'); Hope that info helps. Frank

Update: Found a need to add a br clear both to assure that the Carousel renders beneath the content area:

	get_template_part('library/template_page');
	echo('<br style="clear: both;" />'); // Assures that Carousel renders beneath content
	get_template_part('pro/template_carousel');

More findings: I was not able to get the Redirection plugin to work http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/redirection/ Moreover, it required that WP use Permalinks. But, as soon as I used permalinks, other settings in iBlog4pro broke. As an example, we are using unique Features on different pages. This is configured in iBlogPro > Feature Setup > [My Feature] > Display Pages (optional) > Page IDs - Comma Separated = 230 (for example). Using Permalinks completely hosed this, which on another level, is there away around this? It seems we cannot use Permalinks in conjunction with unique page features. Regrettable, if that's the case. Like the OP, my hope was to redirect the Carousel images to target pages instead of the images in the Carousel. (Using Next-Gen Gallery, by the way.) Still on the hunt for a solution. Tips appreciated. :)

Thanks, Catrina, appreciate the time you took to post a reply. The Quick Pages Redirect does not work either. The iBlogPro Carousel displays images with a link to a corresponding gallery image. I need the images in the Carousel images to link to the content pages the images represent. Frank

Ok, for those interested, I've implemented a workaround that lets you link NextGen Gallery images (used in iBlogPro Carousel, for example) to pages. The workaround is based on this very helpful two-part article by Kim Woodbridge: http://www.kimwoodbridge.com/nextgen-custom-fields-plugin-add-more-information-about-an-image-in-the-nextgen-gallery/ You must first install the NextGen Custom Fields plugin and set it up according to the Woodbridge article: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery-custom-fields/ For iBlogPro, the code changes Kim indicates are *not* made in the files she notes. Instead, I found that the following code changes work after setting up the NextGen Gallery and NextGen Custom Fields plugins according to the article: In iblogpro4_dev/nggallery/gallery-plcarousel.php, replace this code:

	<?php if (!defined ('ABSPATH')) die ('No direct access allowed'); ?><?php if (!empty ($gallery)) : ?>

with this code:
	<?php if (!defined ('ABSPATH')) die ('No direct access allowed'); ?><?php if (!empty ($gallery)) : ?>
	<?php echo $image->ngg_custom_fields["Link"]; ?>
	<?php /* http://www.kimwoodbridge.com/nextgen-custom-fields-plugin-add-more-information-about-an-image-in-the-nextgen-gallery */ ?>

and this code:
	imageURL ?>" title="<?php echo $image->description ?>" <?php echo $image->thumbcode ?> >

with this code:
	<!-- imageURL ?>" title="<?php echo $image->description ?>" <?php echo $image->thumbcode ?> > -->
	ngg_custom_fields["Link"]; ?>" title="<?php echo $image->description ?>" <?php echo $image->thumbcode ?>

The above will change how images are linked in the iBlogPro Carousel. The below will change how images are linked in NextGen Gallery images: In plugins/nextgen-gallery/widgets/widgets.php, replace this code:
	$out = 'imageURL . '" title="' . $description . '" ' . $thumbcode .'>';

with this code:
	//$out = 'imageURL . '" title="' . $description . '" ' . $thumbcode .'>';
	// Modify so that images in widgets link per custom field.
	// workaround based on this article:
	// http://www.kimwoodbridge.com/nextgen-custom-fields-plugin-add-more-information-about-an-image-in-the-nextgen-gallery/
	$out = 'ngg_custom_fields["Link"] . '" title="' . $description . '" ' . $thumbcode .'>';

IMPORTANT: The above assumes you have installed the NextGen Custom Fields plugin, set up NextGen Gallery according to the article noted, and that one custom field called "Link" has been added. Hope this info is useful. Frank Frank

Sorry, one correction: The last code snippet in the previous post has an error for the file widget.php. The replacing code is:

	//$out = '< a href="' . $image->imageURL . '" title="' . $description . '" ' . $thumbcode .'>';
	// Modify so that images in widgets link to custom field. EfnWeb
	// workaround based on this article:
	// http://www.kimwoodbridge.com/nextgen-custom-fields-plugin-add-more-information-about-an-image-in-the-nextgen-gallery/

	CORRECTION -
	$out = '< a href="'. nggcf_get_field($image->pid, 'Link') . '" title="' . $description . '" ' . $thumbcode .'>';

Answer for the widget side of NexGen Gallery found here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-nextgen-custom-fields-custom-field-in-widget Hope this can help someone else. Frank

Don't know why, but the first part of the code gets stripped out when I submit.

	$out = '< a href="'. nggcf_get_field($image->pid, 'Link') . '" title="' . $description . '" ' . $thumbcode .'>';

Thanks for the workaround, David. Hopefully someone interested will use it and let us know how it works!

I also tried this solution: http://jackplug.co.uk/nextgen-gallery-link-to-url/ But this solution calls for adding template=link to the gallery shortcode. Where would I add this shortcode for the Carousel section? I assumed that shortcode was for adding a function in the page or post editor. Not sure how to make that work with the carousel. Sorry if this is a newbee question.
