Full Length blog posts?

Recommended Posts

dailyshoring

Hello, I'm using Platform 5 with Framework theme.  I would like to post the full text of my blog posts on my homepage.  I've tried to set this by going through the Wordpress-Settings-Reading-Full Text, but this does not work--I have only excerpts.  I assume Framework theme overrides the Wordpress setting, but I can't find any information.  Can someone help?  P.S. My webpage is not live yet. . . Thank you!

Hi,

You can use the Loops extension and in the configuration [loops_excerpt length="100"] customize the length option to show more context: https://cl.ly/3U2t1M0s2o1f

This is not really a PageLines specific issue. WordPress has stripped that excerpt over the years. It all can be done in a child theme and creating a custom page for that but it is pretty complex for a new user.

I found this plugin to fix this for you. It is a few years old but I tested it it with PL5 and seems to work fine.

I set the excerpt length on my blog pages to 400 words (set to whatever you need). This also leaves your images and other media.

Thank you both!  I tried the two techniques and they each solved my problem.  I'll play around with them and see which aesthetics I prefer, but I'm glad to have a solution.  :)
