How to replace the DMS account safely

Recommended Posts

Jessica Emery

When our previous developer was removed as Admin his corporate DMS account was unlinked from our website. We have almost no information about the site. It is not currently possible to edit Pages because DMS doesn't work. One of the many reasons for which he was dismissed was his failure to demonstrate a restore from backup. Consequently there is no backup. What are the risks of simply adding our account information into our installation? What would be the safest procedure to follow?  Should we make a copy and test it first?  Will the licensing work across a development / production two-site duo?

I'm sorry to hear such terrible experience. First backup your current setup, then add your account license to the current site. DMS should work then.
