Drop down menu items doesn't work in all browsers

Need help with old DMS 1.1.9.1 site. Client reports that drop-down menu doesn't work for her in Safari and Chrome. For me it works in FireFox and Chrome but not in MS Edge. I'm assuming it has to do with being so old but I need to know if there's a fix within this version. Site is at https://movementfromwithin.net/ and it's only the Services & Store tabs that have secondary items, that are not showing. Any ideas are most appreciated. Thanks.

you need to first establish which browsers and versions have the issue, cross browser problems can be difficult to diagnose.

Your client and you are seeing different things? Maybe the client is using a bad chrome extension or something?

Thanks for responding Andrew. I did indicate in the OP that i varies. Client is on a MAC and has issues in Chrome & Safari. I'm on a Windows 10 system and only have issues in Edge. Client is not tech savvy so talking to her about extensions would be iffy. If I could tell her it's just her computer that'd be one thing. But since I have the issue in a different browser (that I never use)... I just wonder if it's something inherent in the old DMS build no longer compatible with modern browsers.

I'm having the same problem (in Safari).  I went to your client's site.  Curious thing happened.  There was no dropdown menus for Store or Services from the home page, but when you were on any other top level page, the dropdown menus worked just fine (even in Safari).  I'm hoping this means something to you, because I'd like to solve the problem for myself.

Wow...this was more than 6 months ago. I'd completely forgotten about this and the client hasn't said anything about it either. I just went in and now it doesn't work in my FF either! Guessing that the technology has changed too much since this legacy version of DMS came out. I notice for mine it's not such a big deal for the Video one because there is a video page at the top level and then, as you point out, the submenus work once there. I'm thinking I'll make a top level page for services as a work around. But the only clue we're getting is that it's something about the front page that stops it....maybe the slider? Ian, you didn't post a link to yours. Do you have a slider on the homepage too? Do post your link.

It doesn't seem to matter that one of mine was an empty placeholder link at the top while the other was to a page.

The other thing I just noticed is that the dropdowns ARE there when logged in which may be why I thought the problem wasn't there in FF which is where I'm always logged in. This morning I wasn't logged in when I checked, then I logged in to make the menu change work-around and see the arrow for dropdowns. Interesting. Maybe all this will spark some help from Andrew. For me, this work-around really does the trick.

No slider on the homepage, Sheila.  Also, my dropdown menus don't work when logged in as an admin, or when not logged in at all....  

I probably didn't provide the link because I'm about three days into designing the church's website, and it's a mess...   (www.faithbridge.riandavis.com). But, suffice it to say, it's a simple dropdown menu (actually three layers deep), and the lower levels neither show up during a mouseover nor during a click...  

I'm not inclined to do a workaround, since dropdown menus are such a basic feature of WP, that they really, really need to work..

I understand Ian. Honestly, if you're starting a new site I would not recommend building it in such an old version of anything! I've done two church sites in the last year myself in my latest tool Divi. Email me directly if you want to know more or see my church sites. The only reason I still have legacy DMS sites is that clients don't want to pay to move on. So I have to keep them functioning.
