theme on localhost?

Recommended Posts

Hello, i've inherited a wordpress blog that uses pagelines, and I'm tasked with making a few minor updates. I'm trying to get the theme working locally, but it says I need a pagelines account for that to work? I've never heard of pagelines before, I'm not sure what to do. I just want to make a few minor updates but can't see the theme locally, and I certainly don't want to make edits while in production. Right now on my local install the theme just shows a white background, while in prod the theme looks much different (colors, logos etc.) How can I copy the theme exactly from prod down to localhost? Thanks so much for any help you can offer!

Which theme or pagelines product is the live version using.

If you don't know just provide a link so we can better assist you. It sounds like you make be using too different pagelines products.

The active theme is called PageLines.com, there are also installed themes called PageLines Framework and PageLines Material. When I use my login info for setting up this forum account, it connects but there is a message on PageLines dashboard that says 'PageLines Pro Activation Required There are 7 professional extensions plugins active, it is important to pro activate your site to use them.' Unfortunately I do not know what the pro account for this setup is. Thanks for your help!

Ok so it sounds like you do not have a active pro account but the person who started the development of the site did. You would need to purchase a license in order to activate the pro sections.

The PageLines.com theme you see is a child theme of the framework theme.

@Andrew will be better at further explaining the pro process if you have other questions.

Thanks for replying! I've asked the client if there is someone in contact with the original dev to get the login information I need. Unfortunately I can't really recommend to them to purchase another pagelines account, they've already paid for one before and I don't want to be on the hook to support a framework I've never used before. So if they can't get a login from the original dev, I'll look for other ways to accomplish what I've been asked to do. Thanks again!
