Override Pagelines Header and Footer with Platform 5

Hello,

I have an older site that was built using PageLines several years ago (prior to the release of DMS). I wanted to leverage some of the power of your new PL5 plugin but the theme prevents be from adding any generated custom sidebars to the theme (through the drag and drop interface) and does not allow me to add any PL5 sections/containers/etc to the header or footer. Is there any way to easily override that or am I stuck only using PL5 in the content areas of the site?

Hey there, 

For now we have to use the default header and footer from the themes that aren't specifically designed for PL5. This is because we don't want to mess with the functionality of the original site too much (don't want to intrude)

Which theme are you working with?

The Pagelines theme that came before DMS, I think it was just called PageLines. Does that help?

I just checked and it is called Framework. Does that sounds right?

Ya thats the old framework, and yes we've tested things with it but as of now it doesn't allow PL5 to replace the header and footer.

we could look into a patch at some point potentially, wouldn't be too much work
