iblog pro - Ad plugin that works?

Recommended Posts

Hey there! :-) Ad Minister doesn't work for me (shows no ads), so I tried the maxblog ad plugin (which is really cool, because it has got stats! ;-) ) - but that does't go with the theme. The sidebar always crashes after the plugin. And the guys from maxblog say it's a theme issue (because it works in other themes) and the guys here say that it is an plugin issue, because it's the only plugin that produces the crash. So I am wondering - is there an ad solution for iBlog pro that actually works?! And if yes, it would be reeeeeeally cool, if you could share it with me!! :-)) The 125x125 rotating ads (and if there was stats, would be awesome) Thank you very much!! :-)) Andr?©

Agreed Ad-Minister sucks, the provider has stopped maintaining it so we've stopped using it. And its not a theme issue, if it was trust me we'd have fixed it... some people just seem to have problems with it. we've updated to using WP125 which still has its weaknesses (no rotating ads yet like you've mentioned)... Which version of the theme are you on?

Hey-ho! :-) I am on Version 3.5.5 . I am just wondering why I get the maxblog ad plugin to work with other themes without sidebar crashing? Maybe there is a java conflict?! I will give WP125 a try - maybe someone here knows who to get the ads rotated in there. I can't imagine that I am the only person in the blogosphere with that problem... ;-) Greetings, Andr?©

Update: Just tried the WP125 - and it is comparable to the Max Banner Ads Plugin... If you get the Max Banner Ads Plugin work on my theme you really would be my hero!! :-)) Greetings again from Germany Andr?©

The only one that I know off that works is billboard from iThemes. A sample: demo A few drawbacks: - You have to enter a title or iBogPro's layout breaks down - Rotating only on refresh - Not free Another one is WordPress Banner Rotator Plugin from Tribulant Dealbreaker for me: - No more that one slot per widget Regards, Jackey

Hey Jackey! :-) Thank you very much!! :-) I will check out the billboard plugin. For me it's okay to pay for software, when it works. The maxbanner ads is also not free (if you want the link to their site removed). I checked out your demo site and it looks like all is working fine! :-) Thanks very much - and I'll give you feedback on how it works!! :-) Have an awesome weekend! :-) Andr?©

To give you a bit more room in the drag and drop sidebars, add this to your custom styles: ` #sidebar #drag_drop_sidebar .drawer-content { padding:13px 10px 0px 10px; } `

Hey Jackey, Thank you very much!! :-) I bought the billboard plugin - it is not as comfortable as the maxbanner ads, but at least it works!! :-)) You gave me some code for the d&d sidebar, but I use the flowbar. Any idea how I get 2 ads displayed in a row? At my sidebar there is only one ad in a row... hmmm... Many greetings and a beautiful sunday! :-) Andr?©

I FINALLAY made it!! :-)) The trick is to put the widgets in a d&d sidebar - either billboard or maxbanner. They DON'T work in a flowbar! The billboard banner just behaves finde in a d&d sidebar, so if you want the d&d sidebar this would be the plugin to go for. Funny, I always went for the flowbar, because I like the look more (although it is a bit exhausting that you HAVE TO have titles in your widgets, if you don't want them to crash (would be nice if fixed... ;-) ). So I put the maxbanner ads plugin in Position 1 of my d&d sidebar - eh voila, it magically turned back to a flowbar... ;-) So if you like the flowbar more, go for maxbanner... ;-) I hope, this helps somebody - and saves some time! :-) Many greetings from Germany Andr?©
