How do I unlink templates

Recommended Posts

dreja

I have an issue where the changes I make on one page are copied over to a second page. How do I remove the link between these two pages? I cannot find any documentation for this.

Thanks

Sounds like both pages have the same template, so you change 1 and the changes appear on the other. Under the header section, do you see Template (unlock) in yellow? Click unlock and this detaches the template.

Hey, @dreamsight  where exactly can you unlock that?

I have the same issue when loading a template on a "post" type page it updates all post pages with the same template.

I have Blog posts and News posts that should have different page layouts but, whenever I load for a blog post template it also overrides all the News posts.

Hi Queue-it+

The problem you are having is because both are posts, the different page templates are for pages. You only have 1 post template.

You can add a postloop into a page and then have different page templates

@dreamsight

I've fixed it now. Added Custom Post Type plugin, so now I can create a separate layout for a specific category posts.
