Importing TypePad Blog to Proper Page

Recommended Posts

I am new to Platform Pro and I'm learning as I go. I'm somewhat of a rookie here so bear with me. I imported my Typepad Blog using the plugin, and it automatically just put the posts under "posts" but what I really want to do is import the posts under my "blog" page. I can't seem to figure out how to properly point the 'posts' to the blog page. this is the latest blog post: http://careerproinc.com/blog/?p=98 and this is where I need it (and all other posts) to be: http://careerproinc.com/blog/?page_id=93 Can anyone help me out with this?

I see you have a page called "Blog" to get this to be the main blog page you have to go to WP Settings - Reading and set a static home page and a blog page, otherwise your main blog page will by default be the home page of your site.

So we've changed things up a bit. After realizing that we can't set 2 pages to "blog" I reinstalled Platform Pro under a different page. Now I'm still faced with the same issue. I need to import our Typepad blog (which I have the .txt file already for our blog with all content) to this page: http://careerproinc.com/forum/blog For future, I would want the blog to be updated in the same place. Is this the right way to go about this and how do you import to specific page?

Are you importing TypePad pages or posts? If they are posts then they should automatically go to the page that you've set as the blog page in the manner i mentioned above. Have you double checked the import settings when you do this?

Okay, so I set my static page for posts to: Blog. Then I imported my posts (not pages) and everything went smoothly. Now I'm faced with my feature and box sets on my blog page. It almost resembles my home page. Any ideas on why that is, or what I can do to JUST have my blog posts on my blog page? And one more question - Would you be able to figure out why the word "blog" appears at the top of every one of my pages? I don't know how to remove it, regardless of the settings that I turn on or off/hide. Thanks so much!

Another issue: I just tried clicking on "continue reading" on all my posts, and it's giving me a 404 error! Ugh - I have no clue why this is happening. It's redirecting me to this page: http://careerproinc.com/forum/home/http:/careerproinc.com/forum/whychooseus It's 2 pages put together in one. What's going on for the multiple additions to the link?

I'm curious, have you searched the WordPress forums for any clues on bugs when importing from TypePad? The only thing that seems theme related is the blog page with the feature area which is easy to fix using the Platform Settings - Template Setup area

But whenever I try and "hide" feature, nothing happens. It still remains there.

When you are hiding a feature in Template Settings, it may be disabled in one area (i.e. the Posts Page template) but it might not be disabled in the Site Header area.
