travistsickle+ 1 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 I want to make sure I'm doing things correctly. I'm using PL5 and DMS2 together to avoid having to re-create my whole site. Is that okay or should I rebuild the whole site in PL5 from scratch? I just turned off the DMS2 editor and am using the PL5 editor instead. Right or wrong? Is there a better way? Simon 248 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 Sounds good, they will run together fine. Dont try and be clever with both editors open at the same time though
travistsickle+ 1 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 okay. Now I can't get the DMS2 editor to turn back on. I'm starting to see the issue now...all the DMS2 stuff can't be edited in PL5.
Simon 248 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 DMS2 is a theme, PL5 is a plugin the two are very different. PL5 adds functionality to whatever theme you have installed, including DMS
travistsickle+ 1 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 Oddly, the "Activate Pagelines Editor," button that appears when you turn off the editor for DMS2 doesn't work when I have PL5 activated. I turned it off and it worked, then back on and it didn't work. I did get it to work by typing ?edtr=on after my URL when that button didn't work. It's the only way I know how to turn it back on. This is why I thought it was messed up before.
Simon 248 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 Yea thats why i suggested dont try both at the same time. PL5 works by loading the site into an iframe, it messes up dms2 editor.. basically use one at a time.
