fixed background for container...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So with DMS I would be able to use

#pl_areau0o55mj  {
  background-attachment: fixed;
}

to set a fixed background for the canvas area on a page. I tried a similar approach with the container in PL5 but it does not work. I also tried .dt-fixed-BG {
 background-attachment: fixed;
z-index: 1;
}

and set the class to the container...that didn't work either.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,

This worked for me

#containerid.pl-sn .pl-sn-wrap {
    position: fixed;
   }

Would love to see the end result.

Thanks Aires. So maybe I am not describing what I am after correctly. So I want to have the same effect one could get in DMS by having a fixed background for a canvas and then set text/objects on top that will scroll over the fixed background. An example is this http://sierramadreplayhouse.org/smp-presents-glass-menagerie/

So when I add the code sample you offered above I am not getting that effect but I also see that it should work. The test for this is at http://designedtechnology.com/

I have some boxes and text nested in a container with a 1600 x 2500 background with the "fixed" background CSS in LESS.

Aires, I appreciate you taking the time to look at this. I am hoping to pull all these effects together into a larger package that I intend to share with everybody. I just need to get all the parts working properly first.

I noticed posts can't be edited now...

So what I noticed Aires, is that your fixed CSS sets fixed for everything in the container as well as the background...

ok, so this works for the background only #container_ut8xzgz.pl-sn .pl-sn-wrap {
    background-attachment: fixed;
   }

Thanks Aires, I would have continued to mess around in this rabbit hole for hours without the .pl-sn-wrap...
