Struggling changing background video for mobile

I'm just trying to help out on this site and simply want to display a background image instead of the video that displays on desktop. 

There are a few things that I guess i'm just not sure of. It doesn't appear there was a child theme that was created so I didn't want to make any changes without knowing behavior. 

If I put in 

  .bg-video-viewport video[style]{

   display: none;

   }

 

Should that then just keep the video from displaying and default to the background image? It doesn't seem to be performing that way. 

I also tried a platform specific CSS plugin that appeared it would be easy to just target devices like ".iphone" but not much luck with that either.

I use this bit of code shared by another member here on the forum. Can't find the thread right now. Works like a charm.

Thanks for the reply Jamie! I had the bit of CSS right but for some reason the background didn't upload. Uploaded the background again and it just worked. Phew.
