Are there any instructions for this? Seems like the plugin use standard .mo/.po for translation, but how do I prevent my language file from being overwritten with updates?

Support for different number and currency formats in sections is also missing. For me this is an issue with Boxes. I can't use the counter with the current format (thousands separator), it looks really odd in Norwegian (and a lot of other languages).

What numbers are you trying to use in the boxes?

100000000 and 1000. Shows as 100,000,000 and 1,000. In Norwegian that would be read as 100 (or just weird) and 1 since we use "," for decimals (like a lot of other Europeans).

On release the plugin will be available via Wordpress so we will use their native language system

until then if you make your files available I'll show you how to load them

OK, here's the files for the main plugin.

nb_NO.mo

nb_NO.po

And for the framework

nb_NO.po

nb_NO.mo

Great! Thanks.

So if I need to update translations I'll just replace the .mo-files in the plugin, right?

Is it possible to have strings troughout the sections load from some basic pagelines-translation? So that section plugin looks in the theme or platform plugin for the right translation, without needing a translation file for every section.

I don't need to translate everything, only front-end-content. (All users read english, so no need to translate the backend).

Front-end-content  usually is either "Read more" or "Currently viewing category:". Replacing that for every section is cumbersome.

For Loops I can replace the "Read more"-text with a shortcode, but if it defaulted to Norwegian it would be so much nicer. Now I have to do add extra shortcode for every loop section added.

¿Where can  I translate the english items "Orders", "Adress", "Payment Methods". "Edit Account" and "Sing Out"of the my account page of the plugin Quickshop? In the po file they are not.
I think that it have relation with this error: "Your theme version of my-account.php template', '2.6', 'the latest version, which supports multiple account pages and navigation, from WC 2.6.0".

I use the Frame Work Pagelines´s Child theme for platform 5.

What's the best way to have multilingual in pl5, any plugin that stands out from the rest and is logical for the pl5-workflow?

There is no language key 'Read More <i class="icon icon-angle-right"></i>‘, so this wouldn’t translate:
      dms/sections/postloop/section.php#282
      - __('Read More <i class="icon icon-angle-right"></i>', 'pagelines') + __('Read More', 'pagelines').' <i class="icon icon-angle-right"></i>'
