I dont understand this request. What specifically is the use case and what is meant by "all, single, some"? If you guys need something please do the work to help us understand the what, why and how.

Currently, only Loops lets you filter what appears on the page using the category taxonomy.

What we would like is to be able to filter other PL section using category taxonomy - preferably with the options:

All - default all categories
Single - one category
Some - a selection of categories (more than one but not all)

+1

"Single" would be the same as "Some" except just select a single category.

crazy idea

I´d like to put one on top of this and reverse traditional thinking and combine it with the request posted on top. Usually someone defines a blog in ... WP > read settings > define/select blog.

my idea

  • If you put a "dropdown" into each of the sections: Masonic, Magazine, Flipper
  • if you put this section on a page (any)
  • in the "dropdown" you could select
    1. any "custrom post type" plus
    2. one/two/three/etc.  "categories"

That would deliver a solution, making out of any such "page with this section" sort of a "category view(s)", that would look like a separate blog on it´s own.

I need this (Gavins solution, I don't understand micstepls suggestion).

My use of Masonic and Flipper would be to show the latest posts for a given topic, as "Latest news on 'category'". For a site with little content, like most of the sites done with PL seem to be, the current options for Masonic probably is OK. With more of a news site (373 posts and counting) I need a bit more fine-grained control on what to show where.

This request has been knocking about for a while, here's a request from october 2014, it would be useful to have this in the next update

Yeah, it's the same thing I've been asking for.

Masonry/Flipper: ability to sort and display be category, post id, tag. At this point, any parameter would be welcome.

I'm in the same boat as Audun MB+, I've a lot of content that needs to be sorted.

thanks guys!!

How do the updates for extend plugins work? I've never seen any available updates in wp-admin other than the main Pagelines Plaform 5 plugin.

Site activated is it? Pro or free?

yeah it was activate/pro. I got it to work though... had to disconnect my account and then reconnect it again, then the flipper update showed up. before that only the main plugin update was available, even after clicking "check again"

That's wired but could be because  we changed where data is stored a few versions ago

Great! Will it come for Masonic as well?

Though this update for Flipper is great, there's a small issue: the title-link ("Posts") still goes to the general blog page, instead of the archive for the taxonomy term.

Some control over the title-text would also be great. The option to just hide the title-link would also work, as I then just can add the text above. (I'll do that with CSS for now.)

Actually, just hiding with CSS doesn't work that well, as putting the text in the right place requires some work. Now it's like this:

It has already been pushed EXACTLY in the way I suggested - great thanks to @Simon

URGENT ADDON for TITLE

  • make additional TEXT-FIELD
    • for custom title
    • to override standard title (once entert)
  • REASON: since ...
    • "English Language" makes problems in other languages
    • or the CPT name, might be not what to show

URGENT ADDON for sorting

  • please add sorting options to select

When will the feature set be available for MAGAZINE?
As already suggested:
- make MAGAZINE ready for "any CPT" (not only blog)
- therefore all existent (above) FLIPPER selection would suit fine
- once CPT is selected .... the solution is there!

Feature Request - Languages/Expressions

For following elements

  • flipper-title
  • hover-text
  • date time published updated sc
  • info-text

allow customization >  TEXT FIELDS (that overriede)

  • due to language
  • due to slug names, etc.

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

  • flippet-title
    • >>> TEXT FIELD
  • cover-text  +  date time published updated sc
    • >>> maybe introduce ... "Loops Shortcodes / HTML" ..... as in LOOPS
  • info-text:
    • >>> TEXT FIELD

Feature Request - HOVER COLOR

why is it black? ..... and not "Link Color"?

  • I suggest to introduce an option to select HOVER color overlay
