Flick Slider - remove image auto crop & text link?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Been using Flick Slider in some of my website galleries, and have found that it auto-crops images uploaded via the plugin. Can we please have the option to disable auto-cropping? I prepare all my images offline, so when I upload them to what is effectively a gallery slideshow, I don't want them cropped again. For example, I upload a 1200px x 849px compressed JPG and it gets resized to 1200px x 750px. I can mitigate this by choosing to use an image directly from the WP library rather than upload through the plugin, and this then uses the original image, not an auto-cropped version. But, this takes too much time, and the WP library 'pop-up window' navigation is utter utter UTTER crap, and that makes me mad :)

I can see the point of the auto-cropping, I just need to disable it :)

And another thing... If I add text to any item within Flick Slider, it applies link styling to it. I can see why, but all I want is to place some text under each image, and style the text, without it turning into a link. Can this be done?

This is my major issue with Flickslider.

I'd like to add text and maybe links on it, but I hate how it is displayed. Unfortunately I'm terrible with CSS and I'm not able to style it the way I like it.

Even if I knew how to style it, I actually wouldn't know where to add the code. D'oh!

Same here, I would like to see Flick not create a hover link when there isn't one.

I need to add a caption to each image so I have to upload an image but I can't appear to manipulate the height of this? Only the slider background.

Shouldn't the image PL5 component be using the srcset/picture css directives to pick the correct size for an image? or it does already and I don't know how to use it? Thank you for any advice or enlightenment.

      Hey there,
I am working on BentleyRolling.com. I used grams on MoonbodySoul.com and all the images are cropped to a square, whether they are square or 4:5 when posted on instagram, they still get cropped to a square. This looks way better than some being squares and some being 4:5. Did something change since I designed MoonBodySoul.com with Platform5? Can you help me crop all images to a square on BentleyRolling.com

How do I control the lightbox effect on the plugin "popthumbs"?  On mobile, it opens up much to small then when expanded it opens to large.  I would like to control the the lightbox to like 90% of the viewer window but I can't figure out how/where to control that.

I am using pl-section-journey and hiding most of the images. When running the page via google speed insights, it tells to optimize all the images that are in this plugins default. (e.g. https://queue-it.com/wp-content/plugins/pl-section-journey/images/drawer-5.jpg ) Like this one that is not visible on the website, but is a part of the plugin and comes up in google insights.
I've deleted all the images in the plugin, but they still seem to come up. Ref. this page: queue-it.com/features

      Hi there!
I'm trying to create a featured image for my new blog post. It has text in it, and when I add it as a featured image some of the text is cut off on the right.
Could I get the ideal dimensions for featured images? Or, a way to customise the dimensions so that they are easier to fit in the way I need?
      Thank you kindly
