Section Similar To Powerloop/Postpins Request

Recommended Posts

While you have gone a long way in making masonic "prettier" in the latest PL5, I would still really like a section that can pull a category in a 2-3 col grid for magazine style look very much the same thing as the latest "Power Loop" or "Post Pins".

Is this something pretty easy to migrate over?

Thanks

I was able to get close by just adding this to css but I am not that good at telling it what to do mobile vs desktop if anyone wants to help with the @media tags.

.multi-post article {
    width: 40%;
    float: left;
    overflow: auto;
    padding-top: 4px;
    padding-right: 4px;
    padding-left: 4px;
    padding-bottom: 4px;
    margin-top: 25px;
    margin-right: 25px;
    margin-left: 25px;
    border-left: medium;
    border-right: medium;
    border-bottom: medium  #fff;
    border-top: medium;
    margin-bottom: 25px;
}

I want it to look like this on the following page (s).

http://www.twistersmusic.com/category/twisters-featured-articles

I took my custom CSS out temp till we get it fixed because a lot of folks look at this site on phone and it was making it 40% there as well.

Or instead of a new section to babysit, can this option be added back to post loop options?

my wish list for an out of the box post section...

Section Title > Title Text override

Section Title Link > default href post type archive eg. /blog, showcase/items etc

Hide Title Link > Checkbox

----Type & Category----

Post Types - Dropdown

Post Categories/Taxonomies - Dropdown/Checkbox/ID selection eg

Genres

    Hophop

    Dubstep

    ----------

Locations

    Soho

    Camden

-----------------------------------

Relation - AND/OR

----Type & Category End----

Sort Order > Date, Name, Random, ID

Additional Post Selection Meta Key & Meta Key Value

That would be nice but pulling a selected category and then multi col that info is probably good for most needs. Even masonic is fine now that it is cleaner but I only want it to pull one selected cat not the tabs up top.

Perhaps like this. I am all about not making 20 new sections if we can just make a few add ons.

it would be great to have 'by author' when selecting 'Layout Format - Image with captions' as a standard option, more useful than date in some cases

I was able to achieve what I desired in CSS with this.

.archive .post {
     display: inline-block;
     width: 28%;
     padding: 2%;
  max-width: 300px;

}

.archive .entry-meta,
.archive .comments-link,
.archive .entry-content p {
display: none;
}
h2, .h2 {
    font-size: 1.5em;
}

I still think a section would be nice but you can close this for me.

I did not want to start a new thread but since this is where I first asked for a feature like this This is where I will stick a HUGE beer in @Simon and @Andrew hands.

Loops has now gone way above and beyond anything power loop or post pins had to offer us.

My grids are fixed again.

I have page navigation.

I can sort from dang near anything on my site and put it where I want it.

I will probably need someone to learn me about these here fancy meta queries one of these days.

Problem solved guys in a more than big way.

Thank you.
