Just to mention, in ms environment, subsite data, such as 'Content Section, Social Local & Header Scripts' is default to root site settings

yes, within each subsite, there is subsite/wp-admin/admin.php?page=pl-platform-settings

the data entered is mirrored across all sites though

Are you logged in as site admin or network admin?

ok, so a subsite admin would need a unique pl account to append unique values here - the settings are coupled with the account?

Right heres how I think it *should* work.

When logged in as the network admin

  • Access to account tab in network settings
  • Access to extend tab in network settings
  • Settings tab on network page should only display the welcome page, the settings do not actually affect any site so they should not display here.
  • On subsites logged in as a network admin the settings should work for the subsite being viewed.

When logged in as a subsite admin

  • No access to account tab ( they cant install anything )
  • No access to extend tab ( again they cant install anything )
  • Settings tab can display all the settings now and they should work for this subsite

@Simon just tested 5.0.24, everything listed above works as described.

one last question on MS use, for subsites that you don't want to offer fw, eg visual composer site etc, should there be an option in network to show/hide on a subsite basis? atm, it would require css display function, or alternative plugin manager?

Im not sure how to add a per site option to wordpress, its a bit late in the day to add something like that, good suggestion though

mmm, I've tried filter for site_option_active_sitewide_plugins on a blog ID basis and directly in subsite with unset $plugins. Not sure this is a doable for network only enabled plug.
