Header formatting

Recommended Posts

I saw this website build with PageLines DMS:

I want to have a header that's VERY similar. However, with the fixed area, I'm struggling with how to do that.

I want to have a "super menu" under one of the tabs, and drop downs for others, a larger logo to the left like this, a search all the way to the right, and a call-to-action at the top like we see with "Donate" (I want "Request a Quote").

What area (fixed or header) is best to use for this, and, within that area, what are the best sections to place?

If you want to have the menu and cta visible at all times then the fixed header is the way to go. As for the site you supplied it was done pretty easy see the picture.

They used a navi section which has a place to add your logo and still have menu in the same section. And used a textbox with some html for the button and used css to style it.

If you dont have some knowledge of html or css then it could be a little difficult.

Thanks, Aires. So, they just added a text box in the "Fixed" area above the Navi section?

Then they used the Customize section in DMS to simply push the nav down with a top margin of 70px?

If I wanted the .navright to sit at the base instead of the top, can I just go "vertical-align: baseline;" for that section, or do I need to push it down with that top margin? Here's the site I'm working on:

I don't like that the nav is up at the top when I scaled the logo to be bigger than the default.

I was going to use the top black line I have on that site to have some links to the shopping cart, account, and a request for quote call-to-action.

Thanks for you help!

I was surprised to see I had no menu today - out of the blue - its actually moved to the bottom of the page!  After hours of fiddling and disabling every single plugin, leaving just plagelines the issue is still present.  See video for a basic text box - I moved it into the head and it jumps to the bottom and shows just above the footer but below the main content.  I have a temp fix by placing the menu into the first row on the main content but it does mean other than my home page, all other pages have no menu.  A quick fix is very urgent for this bug.

      Hi team,
checking my site today, i'm surprised to see my MegaNav all in bottom of the pages, while it's in header.
After getting to change it in couple of pages onto Template part (too time consuming !), i'm desperate and ask you for help :-)
      Thank you in advance !

I know this is not an easy problem. Maybe there is a easy solution.
I have tryed to uses the existing solution, that I have found in the forum
I changed the colours of my nav (simple nav) and the hover effect (a. hover).
I really tryed to highlight the active/used link in the nav but I cant figure it out.
I want it to be black when active.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Good evening. I am attempting to use the Impulse section on a page I am working on (https://dev.elementalkites.com). The tool seems to have the ability to overlay a logo on top of the slider images but in my case it isn't working, even though I have added the logo file and given it a height to display at. I have attached a screenshot for reference. Any help would be appreciated.
