DMS Toolbar Not Displaying Correctly

Recommended Posts

scientistsofmedia

The toolbar to my DMS editor is not displaying correctly.  I've included a screenshot.  It appears that the top wordpress menu bar and the DMS toolbar have gotten attached a text box within my footer.  I've tried deleting some of the text boxes within the footer, but cannot get any changes to save.  toolbar has become corrupted.

I've disabled my caching plugins but still no changes.

any suggestions?

Hi,

This is issue is either caused by custom code you have added or a plugin you have installed. I recommend you disable all active plugins and see if this resolves your issue. If it doesn't remove all custom code you have added and see if this resolves your issue.

Hi Danny,

Thanks for your response. I've disabled all my plugins but not seeing any difference in the toolbar.

when you say custom code, I assume you are referring to html I've added to text or media boxes within my header and footer area.  the only problem is I cannot delete or edit any of the text or media boxes because DMS will not save anything. its almost as if DMS has locked down.

if there a way that I can reinstall a clean copy of DMS without losing any of my site information and style?

thanks - Eric

The pro plugin has an option to enable editing sections in the WP admin area, you can fix broken sections using this

Hi Simon,

are you referring to the check box in pro that says Enhanced Search "Enable WordPress search to look inside section content, eg. textbox/hero/etc. DMS2 Only" ?

if so... once it is enabled, where is the search option available at?  any other details you can provide on how to use this feature would be helpful.

There should be an option in the pro plugin called section admin 'List all sections in database, remove unused/broken sections.'

I have enabled it.  I just want to confirm what you recommend I should do here. I've included a couple of screenshots.  if you look at the first, it shows that the dms toolbar and wp toolbar are attached to a textbox (uxcdyq6) within my footer region.  I've located that textbox within my database, 2nd screenshot.  you recommend that I just delete the textbox directly from the database?

Interesting that when you look at the custom code within the textbox, doesn't seem like something that would cause DMS to crash.

I appreciate the help

If you have enabled the Section admin option via the DMS Pro Tools plugin, a new menu option will appear called Section Admin under the tools menu panel. Go there and then locate your TextBox section and edit or remove the section via the Sections Admin page. This should resolve your issue.

Out of curiosity what did you add to that section? If it is HTML, then you likely have invalid HTML.

If that is the case then I don't believe that is the cause of your issue. Have you added any other code?

I've enabled Section admin option via the DMS Pro Tools plugin but none of my sections are appearing in the Section Admin under the tools menu panel.  Says "No Items Found"

as I've mentioned before, it seems like DMS has totally locked down, that might have something to do with why none of the sections are appearing here.

trying to recall if I used any other out of the ordinary HTML markup, but I believe its just text and media boxes.  link to the site is http://mjasphaltpaving.com/

I do recall that just prior to this happening, I had enabled WP super cache.  I have since disabled it and trashed it.

I viewed your site and you're using the NextBox section and appear to have added a third party slider to it. Did the issue appear upon adding this code ?
