contentbox Margins, padding, etc.

I'm trying to get my head around manipulating the css for contentbox. (latest PageLines framework, MUD child theme)

I have a contentbox clone on my client's home page. It needs to hold a large image, with text (a H1 and a H2) overlaying the image at the top center.

I placed the text, wrapped in the proper tags in the contentbox text area, and applied a class to the box. On the child theme custom CSS page, I could center the text using my class, but I can't move it on top of the image. It's showing up in a plain content area above the image.

I can't get margins or padding to work in my class selector, and the classes shown by Firebug are confusing and don't seem to work, either. Is there a place I can learn which of the built-in contentbox classes does what?

Fixed.

I was using the MUD child theme, and it was causing all sorts of problems. I switched to the Skeleton child theme, and all is working correctly.
