Remove thumb nails in posts

Recommended Posts

webbdo

Hi,

I have an issue in the blog area. On the main page (http://www.webbdo.com/blogg/)  where all posts are listed the thumb nails shows up perfect. But when navigating to an individual post, example http://www.webbdo.com/flytta-wordpress-till-nytt-webbhotell/ the thumb nails apperas in the post as well. So every post got duplicate pictures which is annoying..

Is it possible to disable the thumb nails in post?

Please note when I remove the thumb nails from the post it also get removed from (post lists) http://www.webbdo.com/blogg/In that list I do want to keep the thumb nails.

Why are you using Featured Image to display the image at the top of the post, then manually adding the same image again to the post itself i.e. you're using the same image twice, once as the featured image and again via the Add Media option ? Just stop adding the same image twice and use only the featured image option.

Well, I have not added this. Now when I remove the featured image from post it looks good at post ( see link above). But on posts page webbdo.com/blogg/ it´s removed. I want it to be on this page but not dubble on posts.

If I add the featured image again 2 images appears....

The Featured image isn't appearing twice, the second image is one you have added to the post yourself.

I have removed the feature image on http://www.webbdo.com/flytta-wordpress-till-nytt-webbhotell/

But look all other posts on webbdo.com/blogg/ all got feature images except the first (URL above). - It´s exactly how it should look on that page.

But if you take another post, example - http://www.webbdo.com/andra-losenord-for-wordpress-i-phpmyadmin/there you will also see the feature image AND the image that I have added myself to the post. It´s showing twice. In post I do not want feature image.

Please note, if I remove it it will also get removed on webbdo.com/blogg/ like http://www.webbdo.com/flytta-wordpress-till-nytt-webbhotell/

I am totally confused as to what you want to achieve ?

If you do not want a featured image on any of your posts, simply do not upload or use the Featured Image to any of your posts.

If you do not want to have your images appearing twice, simply do not use the Featured image option and then add the same image to your page/post via the Add Media option. I am not sure what your issue is. You have the same image appearing on your pages/posts, but this is because you're adding the image twice yourself?

For example:

This is the Featured Imagehttp://www.w3schools.com/css/css3_2dtransforms.asp

This is an image you have added yourself to your page/post via the Add Media option - http://www.w3schools.com/css/css3_2dtransforms.asp

Therefore, if you want to have your image above your posts title on your blog page, you need to use the Featured image option. If you do not want to have the same images repeated twice in your posts when viewing the full post/article or page, do not add the same image to your post/page via the Add media option.

I will use a workaround for this, but it will ate some time since I need to edit every single post...

However, is there a way to unlink the featured image?

It´s not the feature image i need to remove. It´s the first image that appears in the post. Otherwise it will be showed 2 times...

For some reason the first image also are added as feature... Thats why there is two of them in 1 post. After removing the original picture the feature image is only in there...

It just came to my mind. What is the most common DMS theme that is used for "blog" pages/posts? I believe I have tried them all but I might have miss a setting.

Any images in your actual posts, have been added by you via the Add Media option in the Post/Page content editor. If you want to remove these, simply edit the page/post and delete them. Images can not be automatically added to your posts/pages content unless you have some kind of function or plugin doing it. All images added to your posts/pages content have been added by yourself.

Not sure what you mean, are you saying what is the most common theme purchase by our users for their blogs ?

      Hi
Have researched this in the forum and find a couple ancient posts from 2011 and 2014 apparently for pre-DMS2?
Am using latest Wordpress  4.8.4 running DMS Version: 2.2.4 theme
When in the editor (Chrome), the page looks fine, but when logged out and viewing individual posts, they show up twice - one in the column I have setup and a second time at bottom of content page but above footer???
Each page has 2 columns, left column is biggest and contains wploop/content and comments. wpcontent loop is displaying a second time below both columns but ONLY when not in editor. While in editor, second wp content block does not appear???
https://cassclayton.com/el-chapultapec/  is a post. You can get to it from NEWS | News/Blog dropdown menu, then choosing a post.
The 2011, 2014 posts talk about going into Settings and adjusting the excerpts vs full settings, but can't find anywhere to do this in DMS???
Not sure if this is a new issue or old one i just now noticed.

      Best regards,
      John-eriK

      Hi,
I am trying to remove the sidebar areas from my child theme (pagelines.com) from the post pages on a site:
      https://staging4.talltreemusicfestival.com/2017/grand-analog/
The content is all the way to the left and very small, and the two sidebar areas are taking up a lot of space.
What I'm after is content to the left, taking up most of the space, and then a small sidebar width on the right for widgets.
I've tried selecting 'read width content' and 'full width content' in the edit screen for the WP content section, but it doesn't change.  If I try to move the sidebars (1 or 2) to the left, it doesn't change.
If I select the pagelines framework theme (not child), the two sidebars go away when not selecting them in the edit screen..
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
      Thanks in advance.
      -Matt

I've created a new post category "Success stories" with Custom Post type UI. (in order to have a different layout for a different post category - blog post one layout, success stories another layout).
New category "success stories" are "detached" from all the other posts, so they have a different layout, but the problem is that all of the success stories are also having the same exact content.
So whenever I edit content (e.g. change body text) on one of success story posts, it also changes the content (body text) for all other Success story category posts.

Question: Is there a way to retain this separate category with it's own layout, and have a different content for each individual post? I'm using Pagelins templates.
       Thanks in advance.

      Hi,
Is is possible to have different layouts for different Post categories? We have Blog posts, News posts and Case studies that all are posts, but is it possible to differentiate their layouts?
So far when I change a post layout it affects all Post type pages. Could it be done somehow with creating a separate template?
      Examples below

I'm trying to find a way to display the full content of my posts on my posts page rather than the post excerpt.
I've tried using various plugins to create a custom excerpt with no success, so I'm guessing I'll need to make the change to the theme files. That being said I'm not able to find where I would make that change. In the past I've been able to replace <?php the_excerpt(); ?> with <?php the_content(); ?>, but I'm unable to locate this in the framework theme? Am I missing something here?
