Grandstand...eating images?

Recommended Posts

NearlyJen

Hey, I saw that someone else had this exact problem but it didn't look like it had been resolved.  I am using Grandstand for the first time and I can add and edit images in the Item Setup, but certain images just get eaten - they save, if I click on the Item Setup I can see that the image and settings are still there but not displaying at all (exactly as in the other thread's video that was posted). Sometimes they will flash on the screen before disappearing. I tried deactivating my plugins already. Help?

WP 4.1.1

Hi,

The link you have provided gives a 404 error ?

The video that the user provided isn't an issue with DMS nor Grandstand. That user has a cache plugin active on their site as well as using an out of date version of DMS. We can not provide support to users who have active cache plugins or out of date products. Until that user updates their product to the latest version and correctly disables that cache plugin we will not be able to assist them. As the cache plugin is the likely cause of the issue.

Therefore, I am going to need a link to your site as well as a video of your exact issue.

Will do, as I have neither a caching plugin nor outdated DMS. Thanks.

Ok I put it on a page on a different website and different server - http://www.tedxeastsideprep.com/grandstand/. On load you can see that two pictures pop up and then disappear, plus all the pretty Pagelines defaults are gone. Happy to give you access if you want to email me - [email protected]

UberMenu is the only plugin that I can't easily turn off on this server...it would make a mess.

Can you please update to the latest version please and see if this resolves your issue. If it doesn't can you tell who hosts your site and what package/plan you using please.

I have Grandstand 1.3 just downloaded from my Pagelines account, and I don't see a DMS update - looks like I have 2.1.9 running? I can't put WP 4.1.1 on this server right now because we are having problems due to building construction but I have 4.1.1 running on my dev server and still this same problem. We are self hosted.

The latest version of DMS is currently at version 2.1.9.3, therefore you should have an update available if you have the PageLines updater plugin active with your license key entered. If this isn't the case, then you likely have an issue with your servers configuration.

I updated to 2.1.9.3 on my dev server and it didn't fix the problem.

Then the issue is related to how your server is configured. As the video you're saying is the same as your issue which was related to a cache plugin. This means that you have your server configured in such a way that it is effecting the section.

However, if you can record your issue so we know exactly what is going on we may be able to assist you further. However, it does sound as though the issue is server related, as I am unable to recreate your issue on any of my test sites.

Darn, that sounds about right. I deployed to a personal site hosted by GoDaddy just fine. Thanks, Danny.

How can I get support on pagelines DMS? The product isn't that old and my skeleton themes aren't working and I can't get support in the same way?

I have a number of legacy websites that are running on the above version of Pagelines DMS, where the template has stopped working. I am using a skeleton theme to all of them. What do I need to do to rectify this.

I recently took over the maintenance of a site that is/was somewhat broken.  Initially, when I tried to login to the wp-admin backend, the Dashboard a blank page or a page not found would occur after authenticating.  After setting debug on and tracking down the issue, the problem had to do with a corrupt PageLines extension called GrandStand.  When I deactivated the extension, along with another unused extension, I was able to get into the admin back-end.  However, when I looked for the extension to re-download it on PageLines' site, I couldn't find any reference to it.  Is there a place to re-download this extension?

I am having an issue with DMS editor not loading.  Just keeps spinning and spinning.
Have tried several things - Logged in and out, cleared cache, deactivated all plugins, but the issue persists.
I even had our host restore from a backup a few weeks ago, when I know it WAS working, as I edited a text box on the homepage.  The restore from backup didn't help either.
Also, the front end of the site shows that the site is framed, or boxed now (whatever you call it), instead of full width as it was previously (last week).
Dev console shows that there are php errors in Google maps - file is attached.
Can someone please help?  Not sure what else I can do here...
      Thanks in advance.
      -Matt
