Setting up a front page

Recommended Posts

What is the best procedure for setting up a front page with Platform Pro? I was reading here -> http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic.php?id=3490#post-18100 But this seemed a little inflexible since 1) you then don't get much control over the page 2) I get a feature slider on the category page At the moment I am creating a home page Setting it as the default page in Reading Using the Default template Added the 'feature' block in layout to default and set to hidden by default Marked it to be shown on the home page. What are other people doing? Is there any wrong or right way to do things?

For 'finer' control over the way things are shown on post pages, you can always hide things with Custom CSS. Something like `.category #feature {display:none}` can always be used. (Although this isn't ideal because everything is still loaded) The questions really is, how do you want your front page to work?
