Don't Want Social Like Buttons in PopThumbs Section - How To Remove?

Recommended Posts

Fish-Owl-360

I have a client who doesn't want the Social Like Buttons at the bottom of the PopThumbs Section pop up images.  I have explored every Pagelines DMS Setting, Word Press Setting, Pro Tools Settings; literally Everywhere in the site and can not find a way to remove these Twitter and Facebook buttons.

Please tell me this is not so!  How can there not be an option to remove these.  Not all clients want social sharing/liking, and the extra clutter that goes with it.  If there is no way to remove these buttons from the PopThumbs Section, is there an alternative section I can use (Free/or Purchased)?  Either way I need a solution fast.  The client is getting angry.

That link above is just an example site (not the client's site).  Just click on the PopThumb 1 and see the Bottons for Twitter and Facebook at the bottom.  I need those Gone.  Please help.

Thanks,

Derek Bentley

Hi, Fish-Owl-360

You can always hide them with css

.pp_social {
  display: none;
}

and that should work.

That Worked!  But I didn't know where to put the CSS, so I first tries the "Custom LESS/CSS" box, but that didn't work, so I went directly to the section and entered in your CSS in the "Custom Styling Classes" and then that produced the result I was looking for.  The third option I would have tried would be the "Inline CSS Styling" box.  How do you know where to put the CSS?  Whats the difference between the three different areas I mentioned?

The Custom LESS/CSS box I would think would be Global, and should work, but it didn't.  Does the PopThumb Section have a Local CSS that overrides the CSS you put in LESS?CSS?

THanksfor your help!

Derek

Hi, Fish-Owl-360

Actually that was meant to go into the custom less/css area. That is the place designed for css.

The custom styling class area allows you to create custom classes like fishowl which you would add to the input area and then head over to your less/css box and tie some custom css to it like

.fishowl {

background-color; red;

}

and this would change the background to red of any section that the the class fishowl was added to.

Inline style is mainly for short css changes like font size  or  background color nothing major.

As for the css I gave you before that really should have worked  try this

#site.pp_social {
  display: none;
}

      Greetings
      Have a site I'm updating from DMS2 to PL5.  cassclayton.com becoming cassclayton.com/upgrde
      Although Popthumbs says it is supposed to open specified links in a new window, it does infact open in same window. Client wants the radio station icons at bottom of https://cassclayton.com/upgrade to open a new tab/window and not just leave her site. How do I get Popthumbs to behave correctly?
      "PRO" is checked and account is linked to my Pagelines account.
      Is there  conflict that the old site https://cassclayton.com/ in DMS2  and  https://cassclayton.com/upgrade using PL5 are both linked to my PL account even though  and https://cassclayton.com/upgrade is PL5? and other DMS2? Is this causing conflicts? So close to launching this puppy and deleting the https://cassclayton.com/ DMS version... Any help would be appreciated.

      I updated everything and changed the PopThumbs from one row of four columns to two rows of three columns. After that, PopThumbs stopped popping on load of the site. Please advise as to how to correct this. http://katzing.com/ Many thanks.

      How can I save a page in one Platform 5 site for upload to a different site?
      Have a site in which there are a couple extensive extensive Portfolio pages made with Popthumbs, buttons and text sections. Clients are going their separate ways and need to split site into 2 different sites. I'd hate to have to recreate these pages. There MUST be a simple way to download a page and it's content from one site and upload it to a new site - not recreate the whole site, just selected (popthumbs) pages. Did asearch in forum for this and got zero results. Investigated the save/load templates extension but don't see how that can work for this case.
      Thanks for advise.

      How do I control the lightbox effect on the plugin "popthumbs"?  On mobile, it opens up much to small then when expanded it opens to large.  I would like to control the the lightbox to like 90% of the viewer window but I can't figure out how/where to control that.
      Site example

      Thx
