DMS 2 Primary Navigation Advice

Hello all.  I've seen this menu on a lot of sites lately and my client wants it for theirs.  Can something similar be done in DMS?  I put in Multimenu for them (which I like) but it's not what they're looking for.

Hi Ryan,

 

Anything can be achieved with DMS. However, this kind of navigation is not available with DMS and therefore, you will need to create your own section that offers this functionality or use a plugin.

In Enrique's Flatten theme he has a similar function to the menu there but not with the split menu.

Appreciate the info gavin_launchpad, but I'm not sure how to get this working with DMS.  I can get the menu to display, but there is no shrinking happening.  Here is what I did, but may have done wrong.

 

1. Add PLNextbox (Content Width) to the header area and copy/past the provided HTML markup
2. Copy/paste the provided JavaScript into DMS Custom Code area
3. Copy/paste the provided CSS to DMS Custom CSS area

I think my disconnect may be with this portion of the tutorial:  "To start with, it’s important to note that this functionality requires a fixed position header."  

 

Do I used the Fixed area and disable the Header area?  Do I use both?  Not really sure.

This can be done with DMS I did a brief tutorial sometime back maybe it can get you going in the right direction.

Thanks Aires.  Will give this a shot on one of my other DMS sites.  I ended up doing my first non-DMS site to get around this and loved my experience.  Now I just need to figure out where to write a "please hear me Pagelines" letter for my overall DMS experiences.  The past few weeks have made me start to question whether DMS is in my future.  : )
