Search links broken in FAQ results

DMS v2.1.9.2
iBlogPro v 1.2.2
Skeleton for iBlogPro v 1.0.0

Using a premium FAQ plug-in and have also asked them for help but I suspect this is a template tweak. FAQ is on this page:

http://perfectimage-llc.com/faqs/

It works as intended however when using the Search box it brings up the correct results BUT when you then click on the title of anything it takes you to a white page.

For instance search of acid and you end up here:

http://perfectimage-llc.com/faqs/search/acid

Then click on the first listing which takes you here:

http://perfectimage-llc.com/faqs/can-lactic-acid-applied-hands-fingers/

That page is white...it doesn't come up.

I'm stumped. I have no idea why or what to do.

Background: When the client first told me about this, this morning, I was going to post here then. I started to post the versions of DMS & the theme and saw that I have Skeleton and so before posting I tried switching to iBlogPro. That actually fixed the issue and I thought I was good to go, after first restoring the header widgets. BUT then the client got back to me that this little fix broke other stuff. Makes sense as I likely lost some customizations that were in the Skeleton child theme.

SO maybe that tells you something? Maybe you can tell me how I can retain everything as it is currently AND fix the search results issue? THANKS!

Sheila

I find it very hard to believe that Skeleton is cause of the issue, as it is a super basic child theme, it has no custom code whatsoever. Therefore, if it is causing the issue, it is related to custom functions, hooks you may have added and/or scripts.

However, to identify the issue, please set WP_DEBUG from false to true in your wp-config.php file and then visit the white page again. A error may now be printed to screen.

Thanks Danny. I didn't mean to imply the cause was Skeleton. Only that those were the steps I'd taken in case it shone a light on what the issue was.

I've enabled debug and the white page doesn't produce any errors on the screen.

I was thinking this might be the  wrong template for the results? Or the wrong path?

Any other ideas? I guess I'll have to make a clone of the site and try turning everything off and back on.

New information from the FAQ plugin dev:

Does your parent theme have a single.php file? If so, does duplicating this file and renaming the duplicate single-qa_faqs.php help at all here?

If not, what if you copy both the single.php and single-qa_faqs.php files from your parent theme into your child theme?

Keep in mind that both files should be exactly the same, just two copies of the same file with different file names.

SO...I looked via FTP and I cannot find a single.php file anywhere. I've checked DMS, iBlogPro and Skeleton. Should there be one? Do his instructions sound right to you?

I also have a local colleague look and she had another take on it saying:

First, the issue is not related to search. Just continue reading and you also get the white screen. The URLs are all like this:

http://perfectimage-llc.com/faqs/how-long-does-it-take-for-the-salicylic-peel-to-help-treat-acne/

It appears that http://perfectimage-llc.com/faqs/ is a page. You cannot use the same permalink for pages and custom posts or WP gets confused.

Try changing the page permalink and resave permalinks, clear cache, etc. of course, if it works, you will need to make sure all links to the page are correct.

I have not yet tried that either. This site is live and very active I can't be messing with it until I'm sure what I need to do. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Update: I've discovered this problem is not just with search results, it's any continue reading link on the FAQs. I've tried the permalink solution to no avail.

We do not have standard WordPress theme file structure and therefore, there is no single.php. You will need to contact the plugin author and mention this and ask if there is function you can use via a child theme.

OK…this was NOT the theme. I hired a local dev who has solved it (for a fee)…

The problem was with the plugin itself. They used ‘STYLESHEETPATH’ which does not work well with child themes. So, the dev replaced it with get_template_directory() and it works in both parent and child themes now.

The change made was in wp-content/plugins/q-and-a-plus/inc/functions.php. I have written my comments at line 147. I replaced STYLESHEETPATH between line 158 & 167. So, when ever you update the plugin, please make sure to put the customizations back.

Thanks.

Sheila

I am trying to get iBlogpro6 running under https. All is fine but I am getting a mixed content warning:
Mixed Content: The page at 'https://s11r.co/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure stylesheet 'http://s11r.co/content/uploads/pagelines/compiled-css-core-1464872768.css'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS. The compiled css file are delivered in http not https. I tried toi delete them several times but the error is still there.
Do I need to fix something in the theme folder? What? Where?

      Hi
I'm in trouble with a site using iBlogPro 6 with the DMS editor. Developers told me to ask support in forums. Here we go…
I try to make a page with tabs containing a kind of dictionary with some terminology. I am saving and refreshing all the time but the problem is, in some point, the changes aren't saved and I get the three default tabs again as nothing happened. I did it once and again. Then I saw the problem was when I write more than 50.000 characters (or 60.000 counting white spaces).
What can I do? How do I have to configure server settings? Or is this a theme problem?
Please I would appreciate any comment about it.
      Thank you very much

I am currently using Pagelines Framework 2.4.6
I'm interested to upgrade my site to iBlogPro6
Will I be able to keep my Pagelines Framework website live and uninterrupted while building my new iBlogPro6 site?
Is there a online help guide of specifics instructions how to get this process started once I download iBlogPro6?
