DMS 2 WP Content Loop / Legacy Mode

just migrated from Frameworks to the newest DMS (pro)

 

When I was using Frameworks, under the "Blog and Posts" settings, I used the "Allowed Tags" option in the Clip Excerpts to enable elements like <iframe><img><object> to appear in the excerpt shown on my blog page.

 

I used that feature extensively... thankfully there's a legacy option that has enabled me to continue abusing that feature. 

 

Is there a better way to be doing this (allowing, for example, images or embedded YouTube videos to show up in excerpts displayed on the Blog page?

Hi,

 

This is related to WordPress and the except itself, as the excerpt strips out all HTML you have added. Therefore, if you want to use HTML such as iframes etc... you will need to use the legacy mode or use custom code. If you want to go down the custom code route you will need to ask this question on the WordPress support forums.

Ah. Thanks. Yeah, legacy mode is working well for me now, but I saw that there's a note saying that legacy mode won't be supported in future versions of DMS. I just wanted to see what I could do to start getting ahead of the curve.

 

Off the top of my head I think I might be able to use the Special Recent Posts plugin to create the same thing in a full width widget rather than use the Wordpress blog page and DMS legacy mode together.
