Multi Menu Standard Menu Problem on Mobile

Recommended Posts

dawsonbarber

I'm using the Multi Menu on an installation and have noticed a problem when using the standard version of the menu on mobile: basically some of the menu items "creep" into the section below it.

You can see the problem in the attached image (or by resizing the browser on the site here: http://wpagentplus.com).

Hi,

Have you added any customisation to the section at all ?

As I am unable to recreate this this issue regardless of how many menu items I use - https://cloudup.com/cDGBb4NSleg

I recommend disabling all active plugins and removing all custom code and see if this resolves the issue.

I tried as you recommended.

The only active plugin is multi menu and all custom code has been deleted (on a staging site).

I'm using the default settings for the multi menu and am still getting the same result.

The problem appears when you first load the page on mobile or a resized desktop window (if you first scroll down the page, then scroll up again, it appears as it should).

I've also noticed that, on some occasions, the menu appears behind the slider (on a resized window).

Please advise.

I recommend you disable all active plugins and see if this resolves the issue. As I am unable to recreate this on my end with no other plugins active than MultiMenu. It could well be a conflict caused by the Revolution Slider plugin you're using. You're also using as far as I can see a cache plugin too, this too could be the cause of the issue. Therefore, please disable all active plugins, remove the icons from the menu and when you have reply here so I can test the site again.

Danny

As mentioned, I deactivated all plugins (other than multi menu) and deleted all custom code on a staging installation of the site.

WP Engine handles the caching so there's no caching plugin in use (caching is automatically disabled on staging sites anyway).

I deleted font awesome icons from the menu and the problem remains.

Just so we're on the same page, here's the URL for the staging site:

Okay, I see what your issue is. Basically, there is no issue, but I do get where you're coming from. Basically, when you view your site on a mobile device or reduce your browser width, the background is set to the min-height of 100px and that is causing the issue as far as I could tell.

So I can speed this up, can you attach a screenshot of your MultiMenu settings, so I can compare them to mine and make sure we're on the same boat.

Yes, min-height seems to be a problem.

It effectively throws off the position of the logo and the nav (actual height is more like 84px).

Eliminating it in firebug causes the menu to shrink up and increasing it to compensate for mobile throws off the position of the logo and nav, not surprisingly, even further.

One solution would obviously be to use different CSS for min-height on mobile vs. desktop, but I don't believe that that should be necessary.

Anyway, as requested, I've attached a screenshot of the settings - as you'll see, there's not much going on there (and any elements/fields in the portion of the settings window that are missing in the screenshot are empty/blank).

Cheers

Not sure exactly what is causing the issue. For some reason, why you view my site on mobile, the menu does not show up. It will pop up, but it is black. You can check it out here: http://dev.caryfbc.org. I'm also attaching a screenshot where I shrunk my browser down. Any suggestions?

      Hi,

I have been using DMS and pagelines.
I am facing to a huge trouble with the appearance of one of my page on mobile (smart phones) built with pagelines.
However I haven’t come to any solutions to organise either edit the appearance of mobile view to look neat or deactivate the responsive function.
Now it looks totally messy on the phone...

      1. Is there any way to edit the appearance of the mobile version (responsive theme)?
      2. Is there any way to deactivate responsive function?

If I could receive support from you to go thorough this process I would be happy to be a pro member.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

This just happened to a site I'm working on. When I decrease width of browser to check for responsiveness...the pagelines content section is not responding???

While building my website, I set a padding of 5%, 25%, 5%, 25% so the text on the pages is not too wide.
However, it looks crappy on mobile.
How do I get the same effect and still have it look good on mobile?
      Example: http://yemoonyah.com/quiz
      Thanks

      Hi guys,
can I limit the overall of MegaNav on mobile? When I look at michaelkummer.com on a mobile device, the menu takes up more than a third of the screen space. Using CSS to limit max-height doesn't seem to work. Is there another/better way to reduce the overall height to maybe 10% of the screen available?
      Thanks
      Michael
