DMS 2 Adding social media buttons, links

I can't figure out how to add social media buttons and links on the top of my homepage. I added two columns - one for my website name and one for the buttons but am now stumped. What should I do next?

Does Danny's skeleton Pagelines website already have social media buttons set up on it? I just downloaded both versions but would like to know before I consider using them.

Thanks but not enough. I don't want to use html for buttons and links. Should be able to just insert a plugin by Pagelines or Wordpress.

If you do not want to use HTML, then you will need to use our shortcodes which you can see here:

You could also use a plugin that supports shortcodes, if you search the WordPress plugin repository there are hundreds of plugins that provide shortcodes for social media links.

Does your skeleton include social media buttons?

Skeleton is a super basic child theme, it is called Skeleton because of this, it includes nothing but the bare bone files and no other options or functionality. Therefore, Skeleton doe not include anything.

If you want to add shortcodes, you will need to add the shortcode to a section such as TextBox, MediaBox or NextBox. You can even add shortcodes to your Post or Pages.

Thank you. I added a Text Box and the Twitter & Google + buttons by placing their shortcodes in the Text Content box.

 

Now what's the shortcode for Facebook? Not the Like Box - just "Facebook" linking to my website?

 

And how do I position them side by side, instead of one above the other?

Can you copy and paste the code you have used to so we can see what you have. Also, there isn't a shortcode to display your facebook page. If you want to do that, you will need to use a third party plugin.
